Tattoo Process
FROM CONCEPT TO COMPLETION
Every custom tattoo starts with understanding your idea and making sure I’m the right artist for the project. This page walks you through what to expect from submitting your inquiry and securing an appointment to design, preparation, and the tattoo session itself.
GETTING STARTED
Start by submitting your project through my CoCreate artist page. Include your concept, placement, approximate size, reference images, preferred dates, budget, and any other details that will help me understand your vision.
I personally review every inquiry. If I believe I’m the right artist for the project, I’ll reach out to begin the conversation, offer artistic direction, discuss estimated pricing and session requirements, and determine the best next step for your tattoo.
CONSULTATION & BOOKING
Once I’ve reviewed your inquiry, I’ll follow up to discuss the concept, placement, size, style, and overall direction of the project. For larger or more complex tattoos, I may recommend an in-person consultation so we can review placement, body flow, and long-term plans in more detail.
If we decide to move forward, I’ll provide available appointment dates and the required deposit amount. Your appointment is not secured until the deposit is received.
The deposit reserves your appointment time and allows me to begin preparing for your project. It is applied toward the total cost of your tattoo unless otherwise discussed.
DESIGN PROCESS
Custom design work begins after your appointment is secured. I use the information from your inquiry, consultation, reference images, and placement to develop an original composition tailored to your body and the overall direction of the project.
Designs are typically finalized close to the appointment date. We’ll review the piece together before tattooing begins and make any reasonable adjustments needed to placement, scale, or final details.
Major changes to the original subject, style, placement, or scope may require additional design time, an added fee, or a new appointment date.
YOUR APPOINTMENT
Arrive well-rested, hydrated, and after eating a full meal. Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed, and bring anything you may want during a longer session, such as headphones, a charger, drinks, or small snacks.
Before we begin, we’ll review the final design, confirm placement and size, and make any last reasonable adjustments. Once everything is approved, I’ll prepare the area and begin the tattoo.
Session length depends on the size, placement, complexity, and how comfortably you’re able to sit. I’ll take the time needed to maintain quality rather than rush the process.
